Historian of Halicarnassus,
would you be angry with me
for disbelieving history?

Not that things happened before me
but that we know what happened because of artifacts
or because of texts writ by those
such as your honorable self.

I mean no offense but I have
little faith that truth is handed
palm to eye or mouth to ear.
