Like a remedy to dry skin
we dive in
from a high thin fan
to a melody from my mom’s van
bent by teen driving
but beats – appropriate beats
nonetheless
and it’s like we’re sweating all the time
and getting in the grime
but that’s the cure
even if it ends in tears
as all relationships do

For some people
it’s still the fix
	we need

		So we plunge
		and break surface
